A clear vision for Burnsville’s future
Priority 01
Public Safety
Burnsville has experienced several high-profile incidents involving crime, particularly gun violence, over the past few years. I want to ensure we do everything possible to prevent these incidents from becoming more frequent or growing into a larger problem. I fully support Police Chief Matt Smith’s proactive approach to reducing crime, especially gun-related offenses.
We have also joined a BCA task force, giving our Police Department access to additional resources, specialized training, and stronger partnerships to prevent and investigate violent crime. Public safety must remain one of Burnsville’s highest priorities.
Priority 02
Thoughtful Redevelopment
Burnsville still has several areas that would benefit from thoughtful redevelopment, including the Burnsville Center corridor along County Road 42. In addition to revitalizing aging commercial areas, we must continue investing in our housing stock and supporting neighborhoods so they remain attractive, well-maintained, and desirable places to live.
Maintaining the curb appeal of our community is essential if we want to continue attracting young families, encouraging long-term investment, and ensuring Burnsville remains a place where people choose to put down roots.
